This Weekend : Sheep in the Shade

We are heading back to beautiful Claytor Lake for Sheep in the Shade.

Classes include Indigo Dyeing with the awesome Kismet FiberWorks gals,
Margaret Radcliffe, Author of "The Circular Knitting Workshop", "The Knitting Answer Book" and "The Essential Guide to Color Knitting Techniques"
will offer a class on fitting knitwear,
I'm teaching a cable and lace class, and will demonstrate and
answer questions about various tips and tricks throughout the weekend,
creative mastermind Stephanie Woody of Providence Handmade will inspire us with an embellishment workshop and have her very awesome bags at the market.
Also, Haley Parker will offer a workshop on taking better images with your phone.
These images were taken last fall, by Haley, with an iPhone 5C.

I hope that you can join us in the beautiful Virginia mountains.

  1. Hi Nell; great talking to you at Vogue Knitting live. I tried on the red poncho. I was able to buy it on ravelry. What yarn was it made from ? Used my sons PayPal to gift it to myself. Just have to figure out how to put it in my library so I don't lose it. Thanks Carol

    1. Hi Carol,
Thanks for purchasing the pattern! You will love having this easy to wear piece all winter and spring...
The pattern should go to your Ravelry library, but if it does not, email me directly - nellknits at gmail dot com with your Ravelry name and I'll send a copy over.
The sample that you tried on was knit with a strand of Kismet Abundant which is a Merino, Cashmere, Nylon blend in a light worsted weight and a laceweight strand of mohair and silk. I'm adding the details to my personal Ravelry page this am, and hope to get a picture with this amazing snow as a background.
