Just in Time for a Hurricane

We're nearly settled in a darling little (temporary) home in Ocean View, Norfolk, Va.
As much as I loved being in the mountains,
the beach is pretty darned nice to be close to...

There's only a little knitting that I'm able to share right now-
Mason Dixon Knitting has just launched their fabulous new site,
and I've had the pleasure of spending time with their exclusive

Earth

Sea

I'm working on a variation of the Monteagle Bag
using 3 of the 5 colors from the Earth set in a gradient.
M1 uses only the first pattern stitch,
which creates a pleasing open-yet-woven effect.

It begins with the darkest warm brown and a provisional cast on with enough tail to do a 3 needle bind off to close what will be the bag bottom.
Blocking will relieve the tangled mess and a beautiful bag will appear!

Long Tail Style Provisional Cast On
which uses the waste yarn and the project yarn simultaneously.

Now, I may be off to buy a few bottles of water... just in case.

  1. Good luck with the storm. I hope the newest predictions that it's going to miss VA are correct. Stay dry!
